Upcoming Event - Men's Association Morning Retreat

Join the Men of the Cathedral for a morning of Faith, Fellowship, Food, and Formation! The Cathedral Men's Association is sposnoring a morning retreat that will be FREE OF CHARGE and OPEN TO ALL MEN on the morning of February 16, 2019. Come and enjoy mass and a continental breakfast followed by presntations by Stephen Hilgendorf on a series of exciting talks. The talks will focus on every man's vocation, and how we are called to emulate and conform our lives to Christ in the midst of every day situations.

Purpose

The purpose of the Men's Association is to develop and foster fellowship and Christian growth within the Men's Association and the parish, and to assist in parish activities at the call of the Pastor. This Association is open to all men of the Cathedral parish.

Meeting Times

Regular meetings are held monthly, usually on the second Saturday of each month, following the 8:00 a.m. Mass or as announced. The men do not meet during the months of June, July and August. Attendance is not mandatory, but we are a more effective association if all members are in attendance. Dues are $5.00 per year. All dues and fund-raising monies are used to benefit the Cathedral parish.

Fellowship and Christian Growth

Mass precedes most of our meetings, including our annual retreat held in January. We have an annual golf/barbecue meeting in the late summer to start our year and to recruit new members. We have guest speakers periodically to discuss and reflect on spiritual matters. Relationships are strengthened through our various work activities for the parish, including sponsoring coffee and rolls on the third Sunday of each month.

Parish Activities

The men annually sponsor a St. Patrick's Day Pancake Breakfast and Raffle as their main fund raiser, and help with other parish activities throughout the year. Through their efforts, the Men's Association has refurbished kneelers, installed railings, planted flowers, purchased vestments, restored statues and replaced the flagpole in the Cathedral courtyard.

Leadership

The Men's Association hold elections every two years for the offices of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. We are always looking for new ideas and new members. Please call the Cathedral office at 651.228.1766 for questions or if you would like to join our group!
