For centuries, cathedrals have been centers for musical and artistic expression, helping to comfort, inspire, and refresh parishioners and visitors alike. The Cathedral of Saint Paul maintains this tradition with diverse music and arts programming that creates vitality for our community and neighborhood. Tuesday, April 12, 2022| 7:00 p.m.Consortium Carissimi: Miserere,  Music of the Pre-Baroque & Baroque

Three Responsori of Holy Week, of Roman composer Bonifazio Graziani set for SATB choir and continuo. The First and Second lessons of matins (from Lamentations) are sung by solo voices accompanied by a full continuo. Then follows a setting of Miserere mei (Psalm 51) by the Northern Italian composer, Biagio Marini, set for two violins and SATB choir and continuo. The program concludes with Bach’s magnificent motet Jesu, meine Freude, BWV 227. General Admission tickets $10-$25 including prices for Students, Seniors, and MPR Members found here
